Part 1 - The notebook

Usually when I start a business I start also a new notebook

For the Origami USA convention I customized the notebook with my "Heart of Pongo" logo.

"Pongo" is the commercial name of a colored modeling clay, I usually say that my heart is protected by a colored armour made of Pongo.

Parte 1 - Il quaderno

In genere quando comincio un'impresa comincio anche un nuovo quaderno.

Per il convegno di Origami USA ho personalizzato il quaderno con il mio logo del "Cuore di Pongo". "Pongo" è il nome commerciale di una plastilina colorata, spesso dico che il mio cuore è protetto da una corazza colorata di Pongo.

Part 2 - The fishbone

I can't remember what I wanted to fold at the beginning. Maybe I was just playing with the fancy folds in a troublewit style or perhaps I was just bored at a meeting.

Sometimes if I don't take note immediately after creating a model, the "when", "how" and "why" tends to get lost in the flow of time.
This fugacity, instead of belittle that particular creative moment, makes it a daily act, an integral part of everyday life, such as brushing teeth, preparing breakfast or watering flowers.
In order not to loose completely the track of my creations the smartphone and a flat-rate access to the data network was of great help: posting real-time pictures of ongoing work and of new models, gives me the opportunity to situate at least my creation in the timeline.

For everything else there are my black small notebooks and the archive boxes.

Parte 2 - La lisca di pesce

Non mi ricordo cosa volessi piegare all'inizio. Magari stavo solo giocando con un ventaglio di pieghe in stile troublewit o forse mi stavo solo annoiando ad una riunione.

A volte se non prendo nota subito dopo il momento della creazione, il "quando", il "come" ed il "perché" tendono ad andare perduti nel flusso del tempo.

Questa fugacità, al contrario di sminuire quel particolare istante creativo, ne fa un atto quotidiano, parte integrante della vita di ogni giorno, come lavarsi i denti, preparare la colazione o annaffiare i fiori.

Un aiuto per non perdere completamente traccia me l'hanno dato il possesso di uno smartphone e l'accesso flat alla rete dati: pubblicare in tempo reale le foto dei lavori in corso e dei nuovi modelli, mi permette almeno di collocare nel tempo le creazioni.

Per tutto il resto ci sono i miei quadernetti neri di appunti e le scatole dell'archivio.
