"Origami BAH!" #005 - Gli avanzamenti si danno un po' quando %@#€! ci pare - Progress Status is when the %@#€! we want to give it

Oggi ho lavorato alacremente a sistemare la struttura del testo.

La numerazione dei capitoli e dei relativi paragrafi è più o meno definita, a meno di future scelte epocali di rivoluzione del testo. Ho organizzato una buona parte del materiale già scritto, aggiungendo qui e là quello che mi andava di scrivere. 

D'ora in avanti avrò un rassicurante schema a guidarmi nella stesura.

Gli avanzamenti della scrittura da adesso in poi saranno dati come numero di pagine rispetto ad un preventivo  cautelativo e spannometrico di circa 10 pagine per capitolo.

Today I worked hard to fix the structure of the text.

The numbering of the chapters and relative paragraphs is more or less defined, unless there will be future epochal choices of revolution of the text. I organized the major part of the material already written, adding here and there what I wanted to write today.

From now on, I will have a sound outline to guide me in writing.

The progress of the writing from now on will be given as the number of pages with respect to a precautionary and rough estimate of about 10 pages per chapter.

"Origami BAH!" #004 - Prima si resta indietro, più tempo si ha per recuperare - The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to recover

Il progetto "Origami BAH!" è lento, ma inesorabile. A volte occorre premiare la logistica a discapito degli avanzamenti. Insomma, mi sono data allo shopping: ecco a voi la nuova tavoletta grafica Wacom Intuos S, che utilizzerò per disegnare i diagrammi. Ops. Ho scritto "diagrammi"!

Uno dei miei modi di tornare alla  creativa dopo lunghi periodi stagnanti è mettermi a disegnare i diagrammi. Non ho ancora deciso se quello che si innesca sia un circolo vizioso o virtuoso. Disegnare i diagrammi è sempre stato per me un'attività estremamente noiosa. In genere quando mi annoio piego la carta e creo nuovi modelli. Per cui mentre disegno i diagrammi di un modello posso finire per trovarmi anche tre o quattro nuovi modelli fra le mani. Non se ne uscirà mai.

In questo caso è bastato il pensiero, stimolato dalla presenza della nuova e scintillante tavoletta grafica alla quale mancava giustappunto un porta penna a forma di cuore.

Il vecchio Leonard Cohen aveva ragione: "There's a crack in everything."

C'è una crepa in ogni cosa è lì che puoi appoggiare la penna mentre disegni il tuo mondo interiore.

The "Origami BAH!" project is slow, but it is inexorable. Sometimes it is necessary to pay more attention to logistics instead of taking care of progress. In short, I went shopping: here is the new Wacom Intuos S graphics tablet, which I will use to draw the diagrams. Oops. I wrote "diagrams"!

One of my ways of returning to creativity after long stagnant periods is to start drawing diagrams. I have not yet decided if what is triggered is a vicious or virtuous circle. Drawing diagrams has always been an extremely boring activity for me. Usually when I get bored I fold the paper and create new models. So while drawing model diagrams I can end up with three or four new models on my hands. It will never end.

In this case, the thought alone was enough, stimulated by the presence of the new and glittering graphic tablet which was missing a pen holder in the shape of a heart.

Old Leonard Cohen was right: "There's a crack in everything."

There is a crack in everything that's where you can rest your pen while drawing your inner world.

"Origami BAH!" #002 - Riordinare i pensieri - Tiding up thoughts

Bah! Visto che stamattina mi sono svegliata alle 4:00 e non c'è stato verso di prendere sonno, tanto vale che mi dia da fare un poco per il progetto
prima di andare al lavoro.

Nel corso degli anni ho avuto modo di ragionare molto, da sola o in buona compagnia, riguardo la carta piegata. Purtroppo non sempre ho preso appunti. La prima fase del progetto "Origami BAH!" (nome provvisorio) prevede un riordino dei pensieri con il metodo delle mappe mentali. 

Al momento sono alacremente impegnata a riempire fogli A4 di schemi, appunti e disegnini.

Lo trovo un modo piuttosto congeniale per focalizzare l'attenzione su un determinato argomento ma anche, facendo un passo indietro, per avere la possibilità di contemplare un quadro d'insieme.

E' come quando progetto un modello origami e sposto l'attenzione ora sul dettaglio, ora sulla struttura generale, si tratta di navigare a differenti livelli di ingrandimento su di una superficie fatta da infiniti punti.

Bah! Since I woke up at 4:00 AM and that there was no way of falling asleep again, I might do something for the project before going to work.

Over the years I have had the opportunity to think a lot, alone or in good company, about folded paper. Unfortunately I have not always taken notes. The first phase of the "Origami BAH!" project (interim name) consists in the reordering of thoughts with the method of mind maps.

At the moment I am busy filling A4 sheets of diagrams, notes and doodles.

I find it a rather congenial way to focus attention on a certain topic but also, by taking a step back, to have the opportunity to contemplate an overall picture.

It's something like when I design an origami model and move the attention back and forth from the detail, to the general structure, it is a matter of navigating at different levels of magnification on a surface made of infinite points.

Dopo anni di ruminazione posso finalmente annunciare che ho cominciato il lavoro di stesura di un progetto che per ora porta il nome in codice di "Origami BAH!"

Ho un brancata di idee che si stanno srotolando un po' alla volta, una struttura in bozza avanzata, un minimo di file di controllo con le percentuali di avanzamento ed alcune liste di cose da  fare e di cose da ricordare. 

Il pensiero del giorno è per la copia di sicurezza del progetto: si deve fare ogni lunedì mattina!

After years of thinking about I'm finally in the position to announce that the writing of "Origami BAH!" project has cominced.

I have a bounce of ideas slowly unravelling, an advanced draft structure, the necessary management files with the completion percentages and some lists  of things to do and things to remember.

The today's thought is about project's backup copy: it's set up for every Monday morning!
